What is Virtual Notarization? Virtual Notarization is also called "Remote Online Notarization". It is performed online using Audiovisual Communication. The platform that we use can be done using your cell phone, tablet or computer/laptop. As long as you have a stable internet connection it can be done from anywhere. I have heard of truck drivers 🚛 pulling over to the side of the road to get their documents signed virtually.
Worldwide Service: As Montana Virtual Notaries, we can even notarize for people located anywhere in the world as long as the document will be accepted by the receiving entity. Don't have a connection to the United States, no problem, we are allowed to utilize what is referred to as "Biometrics". Biometrics identification involves taking a clear photo of your US based or Foreign ID (Driver's License, State ID, Passport {just the page with your picture & identifying information}, then taking a selfie. It's just that easy!
Expired or No Identification Solution: If your identification is expired or you don't have one, we can utilize a friend or family member to be a "Credible Witness" as your identification.
They will pass the identity verification for you and show their ID that they used to pass the verification process on camera.
Appear on the video session and be placed under oath to swear that you are who you are, how they know you, and for how long they've known you.
They won't need to sign anything.
Interpreters: If your primary language is not English, as Montana Notaries we are allowed to use interpreters. It will be less expensive for you if you have a friend or family member that is bi-lingual and can interpret for you. If we need to hire one for you, we will need to schedule this out a couple of days in order to find someone. Alternately, we can see if we can find a notary that speaks your language.
